ABOUT KERRIE BEDSON

With an academic background in Teaching (Bachelor of Education, majoring in Arts, Deakin University) and Arts Therapy (Masters of Arts Therapy, RMIT) Kerrie is able to blend two  elements of interest, - that of the Arts and Wellbeing.

Kerrie's art practice occurs in both her home studio and at the commercial business she owns and operates with her husband  at The Studio@54 in Ocean Grove (Bellarine Peninsula, Victoria, Australia). www.thestudio@54.com.au.

At The Studio@54, Kerrie manages the Studio Gallery, and Art and Music workshops that are held in the Training Room.  Kerrie also facilitates a variety of Arts classes and Art Therapy groups, as well  exploring her creativity in her own Artwork.

Majoring in Art during her Education degree, Kerrie was able to explore Design, Drawing, Painting, Printmaking, Sculpture & Ceramics.  Three dimensional work is what appealled to Kerrie the most and she began her exploration into Ceramics and Sculpture.

During her Masters Thesis the Heuristic and Arts Based methodology that Kerrie used, had Kerrie creating artworks in natural materials.  This has been a consistent element throughout her artwork.

Whether it be printmaking, painting, drawing or sculpture, nature and the environmental elements of line, texture, shape, pattern and color are the constant inspiration of her work.
